Imagineering On-line Magazine
David A. Johnson, - P.E. consulting electronics engineer.
(This resource by dave is very important for Electronic Enthusiasts, Engineers and R&D Engineers. I say this as an R&D Professional with more than 20 years off the ground)
Capacitance Proimity Switch Technology -The Design Corner, Imagineering E-Zine
"These switch circuits used a sensitive high impedance circuit to detect the small AC power line signals, picked up by the human body from nearby appliances."
(These are the type of technologies that lead to the Touch Screens on Tablets and Phones.

Homebrew A 4 To 1 Balun
Many modern HF transceivers come fully equipped with built in tuners. While these tuners are great for changing bands, the manufacturers left out a very important accessory; the 4 to 1 balun. With out a balun the transceiver can only feed an antenna which uses coaxial cable.

- ADuC832 Development Board
- N8VEM Home Brew Computing Project
The Open Source Movement, typically covers Open Hardware, Open Firmware, and Open Software. The Open Firmware movement provides firmware which you may also know as soft-IP or FPGA coding see Open Cores for more details.
Excellent examples of Open Hardware projects range from projects at OpenCircuits to Tiny Embedded Ethernet Devices and Advanced & Intelligent Camera Designs which provide solid-state camera and FPGA assisted hardware designs. A solid overview of projects can also be found at Open Innovation Projects.
